You might have noticed something, a little strange…
On the 23rd September, after waking up and walking the dog I went about the normal morning thing of checked mail and all the other task in the online morning ritual.
On hitting a restored browser session I noticed my flickr stats and thought WTF! Overnight I saw 4,000+ views?!
Apart from the humorous (to me) silhouette of the daily aggregate graph, I think it’s worth sharing some of the stats, specifically, what kind of traffic to expect from inclusion in the Big Picture (which has gotta be one of the best photo blogs flowing through the intertubes). Of the roughly 15,000 views of the Sydney Dust Storm collection over 5 days a massive 7,899 (85%) came directly from the Boston!
Here is the breakdown of top photos on the 23rd:

Apart from the Boston, the SBS News used the 7:11am – 3:37pm pic here, and my boots got printed in a magazine here and I added pics to three different groups on flickr.
Well worth the dusty walk in the morning
Here is the silhouette (and the main reason for this post!):

Reminds me of the mash potato scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Love the line: “You might have noticed something, a little strange with dad…”
Which always hits me as the preamble one uses before announcing to your family that your leaving them to attend clown school…
Anyway, I better go before I’m late for my balloon twisting class
~p~
