You might have noticed something, a little strange…
On the 23rd September, after waking up and walking the dog I went about the normal morning thing of checked mail and all the other task in the online morning ritual.
On hitting a restored browser session I noticed my flickr stats and thought WTF! Overnight I saw 4,000+ views?!
Apart from the humorous (to me) silhouette of the daily aggregate graph, I think it’s worth sharing some of the stats, specifically, what kind of traffic to expect from inclusion in the Big Picture (which has gotta be one of the best photo blogs flowing through the intertubes). Of the roughly 15,000 views of the Sydney Dust Storm collection over 5 days a massive 7,899 (85%) came directly from the Boston!

Apart from the Boston, the SBS News used the 7:11am – 3:37pm pic here, and my boots got printed in a magazine here and I added pics to three different groups on flickr.

Which always hits me as the preamble one uses before announcing to your family that your leaving them to attend clown school…

Welcome to the new home of ArmyofDolls! Nice isn’t it?
This is the first iteration of Wordpress on armyofdolls.com. The design/layout isn’t too stunning, many of the components are literally just plopped on page and most sections of the site are populated by the humble mutterings of my old companion “Lorem ipsum“. However, I have achieved my core objectives for this iteration:
- Install and theme Wordpress.
- Integrate my activity feeds from Twitter, Flcikr and Delicious.
- Set up recent projects.
So why WordPress? Essentially, it will enabled me to easily document and discuss the various projects that I work on and hopefully give you guys a better idea of how I work and think. Oh and a place for me to ramble on beyond the restraints of 140 characters. I spent a while investigating various cms. Tried installing drupal, experimenting with xml flash sites, but in the end WordPress won me over. The platform is robust, the UI is golden and the developers community is thriving. Theme wise, I started with a Sleekslide. It already had a lot of the components I needed and saved me loads of stuffing about.
Whats next? Populate my portfolio items! LOL
I want to talk about each project in depth. Expose my processes, give an insight into my philosophy, my approach and personality (or lack there of). You know, share that experience 
Anyway, this is reading like my first blog entry (which it is!) so lets just checkout my Portfolio and leave this page to die in peace
